artwork presentation & exhibition

Selected artwork does not have to be framed. If framed, glass or plexiglass must cover works on paper. Once selected, all work will be prepared for display by VSA arts, including framing where appropriate, with screw eyes and wire attached. If you have strong ideas about artwork presentation including framing standards, please specify within your submission.

Selected artwork will be part of an exhibition at the S. Dillon Ripley Center of the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C. from September 17, 2008 – January 4, 2009. The exhibition will then tour throughout the United States for approximately two years. At the end of this two-year period, artwork that is not purchased will be returned to the artists.

The top three finalists will be honored at the opening reception on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. during the Fall of 2008.
