About

They've performed for the President, provided the soundtrack to Alvin Ailey's masterpiece Revelations, and earned two Grammy nominations. Now D.C.'s own Sweet Honey In The Rock and the NSO join forces for the world premiere of Bill Banfield's Symphony 10: Affirmations for a New World. An important NSO co-commission, Affirmations will call upon every sweet drop of talent from this world-renowned group of African American female vocalists--Ysaye Maria Barnwell, Nitanju Bolade Casel, Aisha Kahlil, Carol Maillard, Louise Robinson, and Shirley Childress Saxton--producing an unrivaled performance that will be as historical as it is musical.
