Children's Art Online Exhibit: 'How Does Art Shape Your World?'

Eligibility

Visual art created by students grades K-12 throughout the 50 states and the District of Columbia who submit work through theparticipating VSA arts affiliate office located in their state.

Entry Guidelines

  1. All submissions were to relate to the theme 'How Does Art Shape Your World?'.

  2. Only visual art was accepted. Submissions had to be accompanied by a signed entry form.

  3. Artwork had to be original and attributable to the artist(s).

  4. Recommended media included crayon, tempera, pen, ink, oil (on stretched canvas), acrylic, finger paint, fired clay, textile. The following were not recommended for art submissions: macaroni art, bleach bottle figures, charcoal, pastel.

  5. Two-dimensional works could range in size from 3x5 inches to a maximum of 18x24 inches. Three - dimensional works could not exceed 18x18x18 inches.

  6. Each participant was asked to write his/her name, address and phone number in pencil on the back of their submission. A copy of the entry form was to be included with each submission. Entrants were asked to make sure to include a description of activity that inspired the submitted piece.

  7. Submissions should not be folded and were to be packed and shipped carefully. Two - dimensional work was be shipped flat and three-dimensional work to be shipped in a cardboard box. Using bubble wrap or padding around each piece was and filling the cardboard box with Styrofoam peanuts or recycled shredded paper was recommended.

  8. Artwork was submitted through the participating VSA arts affiliate office located in your state. Artwork was sent directly through this office unless there is noVSA arts affiliate in your home state. For information on the affiliate or collaborator who is administering the call in their area, entrants were asked to visit our Web site at http://www.vsarts.org/ .

  9. Art selection was at the sole discretion ofVSA arts affiliates and based on their evaluation of the works submitted.

  10. Art submitted became the property of VSA arts and was not returned. Entrants were asked to photograph their submission for their records prior to shipping it to the VSA arts affiliate located in their state.

  11. Artist and/or guardian agreed to allowVSA arts the right to use their submission for public relations purposes, including theVSA arts Web site, newsletter, and related media.

For further information, including an entry form andthe entry deadline in their state, entrants were asked contact theVSA arts affiliate located in your state.

Entrants could download and print a copy of the VSA arts Children's Call for Art Entry Form, in PDF format, and mail or fax it toyour local VSA arts affiliate. VSA arts Headquarters was NOT accepting entries directly from children or teachers. You could also request a copy of this form from your localVSA arts affiliate.
