Robert V.P. Davis grew up in a time before dyslexia was recognized. He struggled through childhood with tutors, summer school, and the emotional baggage of being considered slow or lazy because he couldn't learn to read. Davis found it difficult to express himself. At 32, he read a newspaper article and finally discovered the cause of his difficulty. A lifelong artist, today he manipulates words, images and letters within his paper collages. He actively engages the viewer, attempting to convey messages and allusions to his dyslexia. |
