Trenton, MI - Flanagan, who is paraplegic, is continually trying new techniques by using various lighting effects and different angels. Several of her photographs incorporate the afternoon sun. When working indoors, Flanagan uses high-speed film that enables her to capture natural light that intimately reflects the nature of her surroundings.

After visiting Ireland, Flanagan compiled a series of photographs of in an Irish pub and the surrounding countryside. Due to the unique lighting situations, she was able to experiment with infrared film to render surrealistic images. For Flanagan, "it's an exhilarating feeling when you know you've caught that special image and you are able to share it with all."
