watercolor by Adrienne Allaire of Canada

Adrienne Boisvert Allaire,
Canada - Québec,
Envol - "Flight",
watercolor (17" x 21"), 1993

"Since my childhood, I have been fascinated by forms, shapes, colors and textures and have looked for, and experimented with, a variety of media to express my deep feelings and my artistic discoveries." Despite the pain of severe arthritis,Adrienne Boisvert Allaire remains fully dedicated to painting. Allaire's career as an artist began to gain momentum in 1993 when she received international recognition as a watercolor painter. Learning to use mixed media compatible with watercolor painting has made her diversify her artwork. This abstraction has added a touch of originality and fantasy to her artistic creations. Poetic interpretation is an integral component of her artistic approach and she says that, 'an abstract or figurative representation of subjects is often selected in terms of its symbolic value and expresses my inner self.' Allaire's watercolors have been exhibited and praised in several venues throughout Québec, the United States, and Europe and has earned her awards in several art competitions.
