tapestry (46" x 40"), 1997Le Fil D'Ariane is a nonprofit center established in 1971 to help men and women develop their intellectual and creative potential through embroidery. Located in Québec, Canada, over 20 artists with developmental disabilities participate in the center. Their favorite subjects are animals, imaginary figures and everyday scenes. The designs are also incorporated into silk screens, cushions, cloths and tablecloths and are marketed throughout the world. Art expression is only one of their goals; the center organizes numerous workshops and social activities in cultural institutions in order to build confidence and strengthen personal skills.
