(11" x 10"), 1997Genny Zbach is a glass and bead artist who has designed unique jewelry since the late 1960's. In the mid 1980's Genny developed Muscular Dystrophy, limiting her mobility. Zbach's beadwork has been awarded at many fairs and exhibitions, including the Mountain State Arts and Crafts Fair in Ripley, West Virginia and the "Third International Bead Conference" in Washington, D.C.. In 1996 Zbach recieved a scholarship for sculptural glass from The Studio at the Corning Museum of Glass in Corning, New York. There are many times when Zbach feels the physical pain of her work is too much to bear, but she realizes that she would not be happy if she did not create. "My art does liberate me and give me direction. I am not confined when I create... I want to share the liberating power of art."
