limited edition print (36" x 27"), 1993Jorge de Salles lost his legs in an auto accident in 1970. After his recovery, he continued his studies at the Fine Arts Institute in Rio de Janeiro completeing a degree in fine arts. His mediums include pen and ink and watercolor, while for his sculpture he prefers to use those items discarded by modern society (screws, bolts, mechanical pieces, iron bars, etc.). De Salles work characteristically has an immediate impact on viewers and is graphic and bold in nature. His humor and spontenaity usually results in his cartoon-like depictions of everyday life.
