Luis Ernest Zapato created this work in 1992 as part of a series titled Mirando Qué? This diagonal composition is of four similar faces resembling a family of refugees looking out from behind a barb wire fence. The ashen palette and large staring eyes of the figures create a mood of melancholy and isolation.
