oil on canvas (14" x 18"), 1994Mouth painterRemy Bono has received gold medals from Le Circle des Artistes-Peintres and Sculpteurs du Québec for his 'fantastic realism' works. At his gallery in Longueuil, Bono and his wife not only exhibit works by local artists, but offer lessons to students with and without disabilities. Bono, who is a quadriplegic, has also participated in several exhibitions hosted by VSA arts du Québec, and has works in private collections throughout Canada and the United States. VSA arts du Québec encourages artists like Bono through art exhibitions and is currently developing a database of Canadian artists with disabilities to help increase their exhibition opportunities.
