textile (16" x 26"), 1995Sagra Ibañez, born in Toledo in Spain, now resides in San Fernando, a little village located at the side of the Atlantic Ocean, in the south of the country. After her medical studies in the Autonomous University of Madrid, she studied Art and Design at the "International School of Interior Design " (IADE), in Madrid. Later she extended her artistic studies at the Arts and Crafts School of Cádiz. Ibañez' first attempts at textiles were at facilities in Madrid and Barcelona (Spain). She also studied at Graz (Austria) and Como (Italy) where did a course of Design with Gerhard Richter and Emil Schumacher. She is member of F.A.D. and of the World Crafts Council and received a scholarship from the Department of Industry and Energy. Ibañez' latest exhibits have been held in Austria, Dinamarca, France, Granada, Italy, Japan and Taiwan, R.O.C.
