Kelvin Adair Free
Winnipeg, Canada

Kelvin Adair Free's drawings and paintings attempt to make whole a broken individual through contemplation and the creative process. Free, who is schizoaffective, uses the picture plane to capture the passage of time. His earlier work depicts interplay of time and space with subdued color and imagery, while later work incorporates brighter colors and a greater contrast between different realities.

"A work of art based upon an experience in time is a moment that lasts for generations. It is re-experienced by every new human being that sees it, having been transformed by new cultures and environments."

"My art is about creating order out of chaos."
