Vojko Rizvanovic
Salt Lake City, Utah

Vojko Rizvanovic is a refuge from Yugoslavia and was wounded as a soldier serving his country. Rizvanovic, who is blind and has a physical disability, uses portraiture to capture people in their everyday surroundings. His paintings provide for interesting documentary and call into question issues of normalcy.

"I paint because painting gives me what the rest of the world does not. Art transforms me by giving my life meaning."

"I have come to understand blindness as not just darkness, but as a different perception of the world."
