Mandi Ziino creates surreal landscapes of abstract human emotion using commonplace imagery. Her work often incorporates unexpected elements of heightened color and accentuated detail. She reveals, “I explore the world with my camera.” Ziino, who has spinal muscular atrophy, uses digital photography to experiment and capture what she sees in an effort to explore her emotions. “Art is a sanctuary for me. It gives me the means to materialize my dreams.” Ziino graduated with a BFA in photography and media arts from the University of Montana. She currently runs an online business that specializes in designing websites and administrative services.
