Sometimes I Cry
By Jordyn Mathis

I teach her, and she doesn't know.
I reach her, and it doesn't show.
And sometimes I cry.

I pray for her when things go wrong.
I listen to her gorgeous song.
And sometimes I cry.

She sees me play my life-long game.
She knows that she is not the same.
And sometimes I cry.

She'll never know the things she shows to a soul like mine.
Her spirit fills the room with hope, serenity divine.
Then sometimes I smile.

I smile when I love her.
I smile when I need her.
I smile when she shows me the way.
