Educators and Museums:
Building Inclusive Learning Communities
November 2 - 5, 2005
Museum accessibility has grown far beyond simply building a ramp to the door. Attracting new and diverse audiences requires museums to not only rethink the use of architectural spaces, but more importantly how to be accessible programmatically.
The VSA arts Institute is a unique opportunity for practitioners at all levels. Teachers and Museum Educators will join other professionals to examine best practice strategies for extending the teaching arm of both museums and school classrooms to maximize their ability to engage students in accessible and inclusive arts-based learning programs.
