Call for Entries VSA arts Young Soloists Award
VSA arts is pleased to launch a call for entries to identify talented young musicians with disabilities. Four finalists (two from the United States and two from countries outside the U.S.) will each be awarded $5,000 and will perform in concert at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. in spring 2006.
Eligibility
Any individual musician (instrumental or vocal) with a disability, age 25 and under, is eligible to apply. Musical ensembles of two to eight members will also be accepted for the first time. This includes any type of ensemble from a rock band to a chamber ensemble to a drum corps. At least one member of the ensemble must have a disability, and all members must meet the age requirement. All types of music will be accepted, including but not limited to rock/alt rock, pop, classical, country/folk, jazz, R&B/blues, hip hop/rap, latin, world, etc.
