2007 Recipients of the VSA arts International Young Soloists Awards

The 2007 VSA arts International Young Soloists recipients were singer/songwriter Melody Gardot; Makabara, a vocal trio from the Czech Republic; 17 year-old violinst Niv Ashkenazi; and pianist Yew Choong Cheong from Malaysia.  Each recipient was awarded $5000 and performed in concert at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts Terrace Theater on March 21 at 7:30.  The concert represented one of the most diverse and impressive collections of young musical talent in the program's 23-year history.
