Sarah Demas

Sarah Demas, who has attention deficit disorder, is a fine artist specializing in portraiture and the human form. She earned an MFA in Painting, graduating cum laude from the New York Academy of Art. She also studied at the Studio Art Centers International in Florence, Italy, and the Lacoste School of Art in Lacoste, France. She has exhibited widely and been the recipient of many awards, including the Mele Award for Outstanding Artistic Achievement, and the Dean’s Award for Excellence in Art from Drew University, where she completed her undergraduate studies. Demas has been a museum educator and teaching artist since 1999, working with many nonprofits including The Brooklyn Historical Society, The National Design Museum, L.E.A.P., and Artworks. Demas is currently teaching at Montgomery College in Rockville, Maryland, the Torpedo Factory Art Center in Alexandria, Virginia, and the Anacostia Gracious Arts Program for at-risk youth in Washington, D.C.
