Barbara Romain

Barbara Romain is a painter and performing artist who received a BFA from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, and an MFA from Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles. In 1984, she was diagnosed with a retinal degenerative disease and since then has been legally blind. Romain, who has been exhibited nationally, has created many public art installations and performances in the Los Angeles area. She is an artist-in-residence for the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs, and co-founder and director of Art Options, an arts program for at-risk students. Romain also teaches at Columbia College Hollywood, a film school in Tarzana, California.
