AWARDEES ANNOUNCED
VSA arts and Volkswagen of America, Inc. congratulate the finalists for "Shifting Gears", a national juried exhibition for young artists with disabilities. In honor of Volkswagen of America’s 50th Anniversary, Volkswagen generously doubled the cash awards for the program. VSA arts and Volkswagen are proud to offer the largest awards for young artist with disabilities in the nation.

A distinguished jury panel reviewed 215 submissions from artists ages 16-25:
- Daniel Cameron, Senior Curator at Large, New Museum of Contemporary Art
- Kirsten Hileman, Assistant Curator, Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Smithsonian
- William Newman, Artist and Professor, Corcoran College of Art + Design
Awardees will be honored at a reception on Capitol Hill, Wednesday, September 21, 2005. The exhibition “Shifting Gears” will open at the S. Dillon Ripley Center, Smithsonian, Washington, D.C. on Monday, September 26, 2005 and will be on view until October 31, 2005.
