Organizational Snapshot:

The Asociación Salvadoreña de Rehabilitación joined the VSA arts affiliate network and adopted the name VSA arts de El Salvador in 1984. After a restructuring in 1992, VSA arts de El Salvador was incorporated into the Fundación Pro-Educación Especial (FUNPRES). FUNPRES conducts workshops throughout the year for special education teachers on various topics including dance and visual arts. The most anticipated event of the year is the annual arts festival coordinated by FUNPRES, which features the artistic talents of children, youth, and senior citizens with disabilities through dance, music, theater performances, and visual art exhibits. Special education students from schools and programs across the country participate in the festival as community representatives.
