Organizational Snapshot:

The Arts with the Disabled Association Hong Kong (ADAHK) was formed as an independent nonprofit organization in 1986 and joined the VSA arts network in February of 1988. ADAHK is dedicated to promoting the idea that the arts are for everyone and that each individual has the potential for creativity and the right to enjoy the beauty and vitality of the arts. Through exhibitions, stage performances, and festivals, people with disabilities are given the opportunity to demonstrate how they use different art forms to express their life experiences. ADAHK extends the definition of art beyond the traditional art disciplines, to include other activities related to leisure and life skills such as floral arrangement, kite design, cooking, and recycling. ADAHK leads training seminars and workshops in these activities in an effort to generate interests, teach skills, instill confidence, and empower individuals and the community.
