Organizational Snapshot:

VSA Malawi, also known as the Federation of Disability Organizations in Malawi (FEDOMA), was founded in 1992, and is dedicated to promoting the integration of people with disabilities into society through artistic expression and the development of human creativity. Through community music, dance, and theater performances, VSA Malawi, promotes disability awareness at the local level. Additionally, VSA Malawi holds an annual community leader workshop that brings together local government officials and organization administrators, as well as religious leaders, to learn about and discuss the rights of people with disabilities and the creation of an inclusive society. At the workshop, the affiliate invites the general public to view performances by artists with disabilities, sensitizing them on disability issues and portraying a positive image of people with disabilities, and the meaningful contributions they make to the community.
