Organizational Snapshot:

ESCO Rehab Sri Lanka, a leader in the disability movement in Sri Lanka, has been a VSA arts affiliate for more than fifteen years. ESCO was the first organization in Sri Lanka to introduce the idea of using the arts as a tool to facilitate the inclusion of people with disabilities into mainstream society. Recently, ESCO established the International Art Gallery for the Disabled at the T. Arlis Peiris National Centre. ESCO also organized the annual ESCOLYMPICS, Sri Lanka’s National Festival of the Disabled, which features approximately 150 arts and recreational events and attended by over 1,500 people. Each year, ESCO awards four Rosemary Kennedy International Young Soloists Awards to emerging musicians, who then compete for the opportunity to perform at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C..
