Organizational Snapshot:

Emirates Very Special Arts, also known as the Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services, is a national charitable organization founded in 1979 as a branch of the Arab Family Organization in the Gulf region. The City provides care, education, skills and vocational training, job opportunities, social and recreational programs, trips and exchanges, and summer camps for more than 750 people with disabilities of all ages and nationalities. Additionally, they provide disability awareness information through the monthly magazine Al-Manal and a weekly television program Masha'el Al-Amal (Torches of Hope). The City delivers its services through partnerships with local government agencies, schools, hospitals, and other national organizations. The Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services joined the VSA arts affiliate network in the year 2000.
